It has been confirmed by Voetbal International in Holland that talented attacking midfielder Ali Messaoud will be leaving Willem II this summer.
The 24-year-old, who joined the club from AZ Alkmaar in 2013, is out of contract this month and has decided he wants to head abroad for a new challenge.
The report claims that several teams are keen on the player, including French side Stade Brest and teams from Germany and Switzerland.
It also claims he held talks with Leeds United in May.
The report claims that Messaoud spoke to Leeds last month about a potential move to England after an impressive season in the Dutch Eredivisie with the newly promoted side. He played 27 times for the club this season, scoring five goals.
An attacking midfielder by trade, Messaoud is also capable of playing on the wings and is certainly an exciting prospect.
Leeds need to strengthen their team all over the park and Messaoud would offer attacking versatility and creative guile to Uwe Rosler.
If they were able to snap him up on a free transfer, he would be a very shrewd acquisition.
